I am retired but still a company owner and investor.   I have a balance of interests.    I am not a live aboard but I also spend more time on the boat than normal holidays allow (typically 5-6 months per year).   I have  no problem with leaving the boat in a marina for long periods whilst I enjoy other experiences.  I like to be comfortable on the boat, but I also value the ability of the boat to sail well.     My days of water sports and scuba diving are behind me so now I simply like to experience the joy of sailing and visiting new places.   

As a result my requirements for a boat may differ from others depending on their personal circumstances.   In reading any of the material on this website this should be kept in mind.
